Role: Design from concept to deliveryCorporate Newsletter Format
The Macy’s Corporate Communications team sends out a weekly newsletter with important updates, links to news articles, tips, and more. They used a clumsy Microsoft program that allowed them to type into fixed templates. We had strict limitations on how far we could push their software, but with a little organization and designer magic, I was able to make templates that were MUCH tidier and on-brand. My writing partner and I changed the name from “Macy’s Minute” to “Now Trending”, and created new content sections like, “Mid-scroll me-time” and “Making headlines”. It’s not the most beautiful thing in my portfolio, but it’s a good example of doing good work within tight constraints.
